Week of June 29 - July 3:

There was a good mix of drama and comedy this week on All My Children, but I could do with a little more romance. Let's take a look at the week:

Taylor/Brot/Tad: Just an observation, but it seems as if they really rushed the break up of Taylor and Brot. One minute they're engaged, and five seconds later she's headed out to dinner with Tad Martin. It seems the writers really are pushing this match up - and while I think it has potential, I really wish there had been a more realistic breakdown in the relationship of Taylor and Brot.

David/Krystal: What was she doing kissing him at the gravesite? Krystal is pretty honest about the fact that he sucks her in, I guess, but I'm still glad Marissa called her on it - as it was sort of hypocritical. Also, why would she bring David to the Martin house with her - ever? I found that very strange - even if he was just dropping her off - why would he come in? Yeesh.

Marissa/JR/Babe: I'm still having trouble with Marissa as a character, so it's hard to get interested in her as a love interest for JR - but they may grow on me, you never know. The scene beside the grave with Babe appearing to JR was good, but I remember Alexa Havins as Babe. What did you AMC regulars think of it?

Adam/JR/Scott:
Although I felt Scott's anger at Adam and JR was justified - he felt they were letting Stuart down with their decision about Chandler - having him run out of the company and go sulk at the Yacht Club made him seem like a bit of a doofus - anyone else?

The Baby Scheme: Well, I'm loving seeing the softer side of Liza as we see her behaving maternally - it's good when they develop all sides of a character - especially when it's a recast. Tad was hilarious dealing with the baby, the cop, and just acting generally fed up with it all! I have to say I was on the edge of my seat when things kept going wrong as Jake tried to 'deliver' Liza's baby - pretty good stuff! As for getting away with it - no way! It will be interesting to see what twists this story will take before the truth is completely known to all parties - did anyone think it was odd that Amanda didn't recognize Liza's baby? Note: I hope something happens soon, because Amanda's 24/7 whining at Jake - as understandable as it is - is really getting to me!

Trying to Bust Annie: Sitting in a car listening to Annie in the Chandler Mansion? Really? You're telling me this hot guy, Aidan, has nothing better to do than this? Yeesh. Anyway, I'm intrigued by Annie's 'visions' and I have no worries about Adam being duped - he always holds his own. As for whether or not Annie is guilty - too obvious, I say. But she is definitely up to something - and I think everyone that suspects her has viable reasons for doing so up to this point. I love how things progressed this week at the Chandler Mansion, from people being able to walk right in, to people ringing the doorbell, then finally, to Erica setting off the security alarm! Love the end scene with Annie strangling Erica - can't wait until Monday!

Kendall's Case: This week, Zach came out looking far better than Ryan in the quest to save the fair maiden, Kendall. Zach with measured calm and patience dug up dirt on Henry North, while Ryan seemingly went off willy-nilly - rushing to North's office with Tad, and actually hurting Kendall's chances. (Although I don't see how - anything that could help create reasonable doubt that it was Kendall should help her case). Anyway, who knows what Kendall is planning, as she seemed to be making the rounds of everyone in town as if she was going to take off, or do something dramatic - any thoughts?

Randi/North: It's not looking good for North who has become unpopular with many people - even his former love, Randi, is seeing the ruthless side of him now! Interesting that she seemed to be surprised that he wanted to sleep with her on Thursday's episode - what did she think he wanted to meet out of town for? Did she think he was going to drop his agendas against Kendall and Jesse just for her walking through the door of the hotel room? Should be interesting to see what she'll do next!

Overall, the baby drama, and the murder mystery are still the most compelling things about the show - there are really no hot couples or big romances to enjoy right now - other than Jake and Amanda, who are too caught up in the baby stuff to be happy. I'm looking for Liza to get back on her feet. I'm also wondering if David is still suspicious about the baby's death at all - he really seemed to think that Amanda was going to confess something at the memorial service…hmm…

Tell me your thoughts on the week in the comments section below! Beginning next week, watch for the AMC Rant to be posted on Monday rather than Friday afternoons! Have a great holiday weekend!

I hope, come Monday, we find out Erica's vocal chords are damaged from Annie strangling her. Erica is getting on my nerves. I could use a break!

Kendall is so sure Annie did it and that she can get her to confess. I think she'll try again. She's going from place to place so Zack won't find her and stop her from going to the Chandler manse again.

Krystal never should have brought David in to the Martin residence. David cann't stand the Martins and the Martins cann't stand him. It's like she's slapping David upside Tad's head! If I was Tad I'd make it clear to her that David was not welcome and if she brought him over again, it had better be to get her stuff and go!

This murder mystery is progressing to slowly. Now we are about to have another. Hope it moves faster!

Alexa Havins really did great as Babe. Her and JR really had chemistry. As 'touching' as the scene was, it would have been better with Alexa.

Yeah...I agree with a lot of your thoughts...
Tad/Taylor/Brot thing is a little forced especially since they set up this get love/coming back from the dead thing...but I like Tad and Taylor's little flirting.
Dave/Krystal
since the writers haven't been on the mark w Krystal lately they are on the mark with that mess.
Marissa/Jr...Yeah I not quite feeling them...but since the actress playing Marissa actually looks like she could be David and Krystal's child I love the casting to much to give up on it yet.

Chandler Enterprises...wow how sappy was the mission...plus do you have data or spread sheets showing that green companies with a heart are so in that they're making money hand over fist.

Baby...I'm so pissed about the fact the writers wants us to believe that Jake put together a file with 3d sonagrams of Colby(did they have them back then) yet he didn't think to get a a DNA test...especially when Amanda started having braxstion hics a whole 2 1/2 months early please.

Annie...tired of crazy Annie story...but she didn't do it but she knows who did and I think Adam remember that night that's why she wants Annie so close...just a guess though

Kendall...looks like Kendall on the run...I want to know who did it and please let Jesse not Zach or Ryan catch them...

Randi/North
I mad the way this s/l will end up...I for once wabt to see a couple confide in each other and really make them against the world...that's how Zach and Kendall used to be

Tad/Taylor/Brot - That one's easy. Taylor sucks. Keep her from Tad please. Make her go away, sooner rather than later.

David/Krystal - I was grossed out watching them make out while standing on top of their dead daughter's grave. That's just wrong.

The whole Kendall murder case is just plain boring. Convict her, don't convict her, I just don't care.

I love Jake and Amanda together. Truthfully, right now, they are the only thing worth watching on AMC. But when it is all said and done, Jake better be the biological father of Amanda's son. The poor guy is doing everything in the world for Amanda...and the best is yet to come...

I liked the scene with JR/Babe- I was around for Alexa's version, and actually enjoyed Amanda Baker more, so it was nice to her back. JR/Marissa, I like them, I think there's chemistry there. However, I could dislike Marissa as soon as next week depending on how the spoilers play out.

JR/Adam/Scott- couldn't disagree more that Scott had a right to be angry. I thought he came across as an immature child. There isn't anything wrong with a company making money, and if they start giving it away, to appease Scott, in order to honor Stuart, there won't be a company left. I was very impressed with the writing for JR, who offered a realistic compromise.

Regarding everything else, I find nothing worth watching- can't stand Jake and Amanda, and while I can't stand David either, I hope he finds out the truth, and makes them both pay. It's terrible what they're doing. Hate Ryan/Erica, and Annie/Adam.

I agree with you, I could use some more romance and am not thrilled with the couples are going these days!

You know I normally would agree that hiding paternity is terrible. In fact when the same storyline was done on Days, despite the family that the children would be born into, I was upset that they let EJ think his child died. But I just dont feel the same about David, probably because he has a distructive obsession, breaking into peoples homes, terrorizing and threatning a pregnant woman. He has demonstrated that there are no depths he wont stoop to to get his way. I question his mental stability and I would be afraid to share a child with him.

RYAN & Erica!?!??! Please don't tell me AMC has nothing better to do than to create another idiotic couple??!? They are not even believable! How sick is it that you would even think to pair him up with his ex-fiance's MOTHER! Erica is beautiful but she is still a GRANDMOTHER. Just another storyline that I fast forward through, along with Melissa. You could have at least cast someont that remotely looked like Babe! She is also not believable; new in town and giving all the characters advice on their personal lives! C'mon AMC! I am slowly starting to watch One Life to Live more than AMC due to better story lines, and I've been a fan for 30 years!!!
