B&B Breakdown for the week of November 2.
This seemed to be the week of change on B&B. There were new jobs, new attitudes, a new character and possibly new couples.
New Career Paths
Donna continued her new hosting job on “The Catwalk,” which didn’t exactly go so well this week, as photographer Brio was apparently a total bore. Paging Pamela Douglas! Even though she didn’t hit it out of the park this week, she loves her new gig, but her husband isn’t exactly onboard. I get why he would have reservations about her working with both Justin and Bill, but the scene where Eric declared he didn’t want his wife doing “The Catwalk,” taking her hand and leading her off as if she were a child was so condescending. I wish Donna would have spoken up or pulled him aside instead of looking like a scolded little girl who dutifully followed her daddy out.
Steffy also garnered herself a new position at Forrester: head of PR. Bill’s giving promotions out like hotcakes over there, with no experience needed apparently. I’m not entirely sure why her concept or execution of the Hollywood campaign was so brilliant, as The Forrester photo shoots seem to all be the same of the Logan sisters, just in different outfits, but apparently Bill was wowed. I am glad to see Steffy taking some control in her life though and have some real purpose. I just wonder if she’s getting in over her head.
Attitude Adjustment
Even though Eric went off the grid in his protest against Bill taking over his company, Ridge seems to be coming around. In most part because his daughter will now be directly affected if he doesn’t produce top quality designs, but whatever his reasons, it’s making for some interesting dynamics. I much prefer the clam, Zen-like Ridge and loved that he made Katie’s dress out of his love for Brooke.

I’m already intrigued by Sandy. She is clearly not who Bridget and Nick think she is, as she lied on her surrogate profile and her name is actually Agnes, or is it? Maybe she lied to Andrea about that too. There are so many questions already: Who is she? Why did Andrea help her out? Why does she want to be a surrogate? Why was she so affected by Nick’s photo? And why did she change her hair color? She’s only been on for two days and I can’t wait to see more. Not to mention, Sarah Brown is a really good actress and can sell just about anything,
I’m not usually into baby storylines, but since I’m already intrigued by this new character, I’m onboard. But not only that, I’ve so been enjoying Nick lately that I want to see him more in an actual storyline and not just supporting his mother. I just hope he keeps his sense of humor because his concern over Sandy having childbearing hips was pretty funny.
Love is in the Air
Apparently Steffy is over Owen and has moved on to being intrigued by Bill. She seems pretty impressionable so her being enamored with a powerful, take-charge man isn’t too much of a stretch, but what about him? He’s acting much like he did with Katie early on by encouraging her and believing in her talent, however, he doesn’t seem as interested in Steffy personally as he was with Katie, but will the kiss change things? I was pretty annoyed by her rattling on and on about how great he was and how he wasn’t as bad as everyone thought. I would think Bill wouldn’t have the patience for it either, but I wonder how he will react to the kiss on Monday and if it will affect his relationship with Katie.
I know it’s been awhile sine they broke up, but I would like to see Steffy and Rick acknowledge their failed relationship. They broke up offscreen and I can’t remember if they have interacted since. They were in the same meeting the other day, but barely noticed each other. I would think an uncomfortable, or at least a knowing, exchange of glances would take place.
Donna and Justin were the other couple of note, as he declared his intentions toward her this week. She seems to still have feelings for him, but I don’t buy that Eric doesn't fulfill her needs as Justin stated. Donna and Eric’s whole relationship has been based on sex. Maybe her marriage is squashing her ambition, but I think her sexual needs have been pretty well documented. Or did I take what Justin said wrong? Regardless, I would like to see these two get together. Eric seems ready for retirement and Donna is too young for that. She is just hitting her stride and exploring new avenues, which Justin seems to happily want to be a part of. I say go for it!
A New Era?
I think there’s a lot to look forward to on B&B, with different characters, dynamics and situations. After all the recycled plots and love interests, I for one am excited. What do you think? Feel free to share your thoughts below.
